The speed gauge is easy to decipher because it is calibrated in miles per hour (mph). To determine what your swing speed is, you merely swing The SPEED Stik and read the top of the red indicator. To prepare for subsequent "readings", reset the speed gauge by lightly tapping the handle-end of The SPEED Stik on the ground and you are set to go.
