Freddy Connect
Dual Trace Swing Trainer
Includes Instructional DVD

Whether you need to cure a slice or hook, or are looking for a great way to practice your swing and develop more consistency and control, this will help you and here's why:

Your swing-path alignment and your clubface-angle at impact sets the shape and direction of your shots. Because both are invisible components of your swing, perfection is extremely difficult to achieve. Minor misalignments in either cause big problems down range.

The Freddy Connect Dual Trace Swing Trainer will provide you with a visual aid to this problem.

Made in the USA

How to Use the Freddy Connect

The visual feedback will immediately help you learn to control the shape of your shots and improve directional accuracy quicker than any other method. It will open your eyes and give you new insight to what you are doing and (more importantly) what you should be doing with the club. Thousands of golfers across the country have learn ball control with this product.

Installing the Freddy Connect

The Freddy Connect quickly attaches to any club. It works great on both drivers and irons. As you swing, you see two traces of light in the air (like trails of smoke) one red and one green. Watching the position and path of these traces, and seeing where they overlap gives you pure, precise, instant visual feedback on the following three most critical components of your swing...

Clubface Angle
Open Clubface (causes the ball to fade or slice.)
An open clubface is indicated when the green trace is inside of the red trace. An open clubface at impact (relative to swing path) causes the ball to "roll" on the clubface toward the toe. This creates a sidespin that causes the ball to fade or slice. The wider the gap between the red and green traces, the greater the angle and consequently, the stronger the curve.
Square Clubface (causes the ball to fly straight)
A square clubface is indicated when the green trace overlaps the red trace creating an amber-like single trace. A square clubface at impact (relative to swing path) causes little or no sidespin. A ball with no sidespin will fly perfectly straight.
Closed Clubface (causes the ball to draw or hook)
A close clubface is indicated when the green trace is outside of the red trace. A closed clubface at impact (relative to swing path) causes the ball to "roll " on the clubface toward the heel or hosel. This creates a sidespin that causes the ball to draw or hook. The wider the gap between the red and green traces, the greater the angle and consequently, the stronger the curve.
OBJECTIVE:
As you practice your swing attempt to overlap the traces at the bottom of your swing or intended point of impact. This will teach how to control the clubface through impact. The instant visual feedback enables you to quickly learn what an open, square, or closed clubface looks like, and more importantly, what it feels like! If you slice or hook the ball on a regular basis, you will notice that your traces overlap before or after point-of-impact, or do not overlap at all. Once you realize what is happening, you can begin to correct the problem.

Suggestions:
An open or closed clubface can be the result of an improper swing path (the next section explains how to analyze your swing path). Other reasons include improper grip, setup, address, timing and more. Experiment with tips and advice from professionals that address squaring the club at impact. The next step is to apply what you have learned at the range and then on the course. If you are a low handicapper, use the Freddy Connect Golf Swing Analyzer to maintain or improve the consistencies and "feel" you have already developed.

Swing Path Alignment

To improve you swing path alignment, swing over an aim line (any line on the ground will do) The visible traces clearly reveal your swing path relative to your aim line or target line. Below are three typical swing paths and the effect they have on shot direction.

OUTSIDE-IN
If you notice that the traces start outside of your aim line and finish on the inside, this indicates an outside-in swing path. A severe outside-in swing path causes the ball to start traveling on a path that is commonly know as a pull. Golfers who have an outside-in swing path generally fade or slice the ball.
ON-LINE
If you notice that the traces start just inside your aim line and travel down the line, this indicates an on-line swing path. An on-line swing path causes the ball to start traveling directly toward your target.
INSIDE-OUT
If you notice that the traces start inside of your aim line and finish on the outside, this indicates an inside-out swing path. A severe inside-out swing path causes the ball to start traveling on a path that is commonly know as a push. Golfers who have an inside-out swing path generally draw or hook the ball.
OBJECTIVE:
To improve accuracy and consistency in swing path alignment through instant visual feedback. Practice swinging "on-line". Use tips and methods from golf professionals that address swing path alignment.

Sweet Spot Alignment

CLUBFACE MEETS BALL NEAR TOE

Because the RED L.E.D. is directly above the sweetspot, concentrate mainly on the position of the RED trace relative to your hitting target. (See "Providing a Hitting Target" in the user guide for suggestions.) Below are three typical impact positions and the effect they have on accuracy and power.
If you notice that the traces are inside of your hitting target, this indicates that you would have hit the ball near the toe of the clubhead. As a result, power and accuracy are lost.
CLUBFACE MEETS BALL ON SWEETSPOT
If you notice that the traces overlap your hitting target, this indicates that you would have hit the ball in the "sweet spot". Hitting the ball in the "sweet spot" causes the ball to fly on-line as intended and maximum power is achieved.
CLUBFACE MEETS BALL NEAR HOSEL
If you notice that the traces are outside of your hitting target, this indicates that you would have hit the ball near the hosel of the clubhead. As a result, power and accuracy are lost.
OBJECTIVE:
To improve accuracy and consistency in clubface-to-ball alignment through instant visual feedback. We have found that this quickly improves by slowing down your tempo and following a systematic setup routine. Use tips from professionals that address setup routines and ball contact.

What people are saying...

"I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with your Swing Analyzer. I am a high handicap golfer and since practicing with the analyzer I have improved my distance and control. I do not always have the time to practice my game at a golf course but the analyzer has made it easy for me to practice my swing in my yard.

I was ready to give up on improving my game but the analyzer has allowed me to improve overall and enjoy the game again. "
    --- Duane, Milan, IL.

"What a great product ... I have spent hundreds of dollars on golf videos and gadgets ... but, this is by far the most professionally developed product I have seen for golf. I believe this will (if it has NOT already) become a industry standard ....

I only had it a week ... but, within the first hour I practiced with the FreddyConnect I found out what YEARS of golf and golf videos and golf instructions .. were NOT able to do .... I knew my club face was OPEN at ball contact; however, I didn't know how much.... and after correcting the club angle at ball contact ... I am able to contact the ball more consistently, and obtained the lost yardage that I have suffered after a BACK injury.. Again, the product has exceeded my expectations. "
    --- Makoto, San Jose, CA

"Just a note to tell you how impressed I am with the Freddy Connect. When I first received it, I attached it to a wedge and headed into the living room (a true practice area with much danger) and began swinging the club. I was amazed how instantly it revealed my club path and club face squareness (or lack there of) and how clearly it did so. I must tell you that of the many training devices that I seen, this one really caught my attention. It's simple and does not require an advanced degree to operate and understand.

This is a first class product and I would recommend it to everyone. It saves having to carry an extra "learning" club as you can use your own club right from your bag, which really is better. And the increased swing weight caused by the device is a major benefit, too, because it allows you to really feel the club head.

Your product ought to be on every players must have list."
--- Tyrrell 'Dusty' Richardson, Professional Tour Player

"I've used Freddy for about 2-3 weeks and in that time I've developed a nice easy draw on all my shots that allows for more distance and more consistent contact shot after shot.

I've shot two of my all-time best rounds in the last couple of weeks and (if I can get a couple of putts to fall) I'll be breaking par in no time! This is an engineering masterpiece and a par-breaking guru of a device!"
    --- Raul, Miami, Florida

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What will this device do for me?
A. The key to mastering any skill is trial and error. The reason it is so difficult to master the golf swing is you cannot see your error. (talking about errors in swingpath, clubhead and clubface alignment) The Freddy Connect lets you see these errors so you can systematically improve your swing through trial and error. With it you can work on different parts of your swing one at a time. Try those tips from the pro's and instructors and find out what works best for you. Then, once you get things working, use the Freddy Connect to stay sharp.
Q. Can I hit balls with it attached to my club?
A. This is the most commonly asked question. The Freddy Connect was designed to help you improve your swing in areas where you cannot hit a ball. That is what is so great about it! You will find this is the best way to use it. But if you must... you can hit balls with it attached, it was designed to take the pounding.
Q. Can I use the Freddy Connect on the course?
A. Yes!* it's so small you wont even notice it in your bag. Once you have it set to fit your clubs, you can quickly snap it on a club and "tweak" your swing while waiting for those hackers in front of you to... PICK UP THE PACE!!! *in direct sunlight you will need to swing through your shadow.
Q. The traces never overlap, the green trace is constantly inside of the red... I have tried swinging outside-in.... inside-out.... but nothing works! is the product defective?
A. No. Your clubface is open. Because you have been swinging with an open clubface for so long... your mind has the open feel imprinted and what you think is square is actually open. You must practice releasing your hands earlier in your swing. The Freddy Connect will show you when you are squaring the club face to your swing path. ("turning over" the club at the just the right time)
Q. Why am I not seeing the traces?
A. You may be trying to following the clubhead with your eyes. If your eyes follow the lights, you will not see the traces they produce. Keep your eyes locked on an imaginary ball or hitting target until your club passes through the impact zone 2. It is difficult to see the traces in direct sunlight for first time users, practice late in the day around sunset or indoors.
Q. Will the added weight of the analyzer negatively affect my swing?
A. No, many experts and pro’s use weighted training clubs to strengthen golf specific muscles, improve tempo, and enhance feel.
